This is how it all started…

Growing up, I developed a passion for Vintage Land Rovers. My first experience was at a classic European Car show with my dad. Between the rows of Ferrari’s, Marserati’s and Mercedes was a white Land Rover Series 1 with all the mods for a classic African Safari: Galvanized bumpers, Safari Top, Knobby Tyres. In Entering High School, I was convinced my parents would buy me a NAS Defender for my first car which in the late Aughts was just a 10+ year old used car. Unfortunately I didn’t get my Defender and the prices became out of reach

Fast forward to 2019. A Few years into my career as a Navy pilot and looking for an entry into classic Land Rover ownership I stumbled upon a mint condition Land Rover Discovery 1. It is 1995 SE7 in Avalon blue and 65,xxx miles on the clock. With seating for 7, rear air conditioning, dual sunroofs, and a Safety Devices roof rack, it checked all the boxes. As a bonus it is a rare Manual transmission and has an OEM Saudi style grille. Along the way I picked up another Disco; 1997 White SD with no optionsand 63,xxx miles on the clock. So follow along The Discovery Dispatch as I share my musings, weekly car finds, and mechanical updates to my Discoveries.
